Chantale Wong
Ambassador Chantale Y.M. Wong is a seasoned economic development executive with expertise in data, finance, sustainability, and human rights. As U.S. Ambassador and Executive Director for the Asian Development Bank (ADB), she led efforts to include Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity (SOGI) protections and helped increase ADB’s lending capacity by $100 billion while maintaining its AAA rating.
Previously, she served as CFO of the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC), managing a $1 billion budget. Her career spans leadership roles at NASA, the U.S. Treasury, and the EPA, where she contributed to transformative financial and environmental initiatives.
Beyond public service, Ambassador Wong is an accomplished photographer whose work has been exhibited at the Smithsonian and featured in major publications. She is the founder of CAPAL, supporting young Asian American public servants, and is a life member of the Council on Foreign Relations. She holds degrees from Harvard, UC Berkeley, and the University of Hawaii, specializing in public administration and environmental engineering.
